WHAT IS A 30 DAY CHALLENGE?

CHOOSE SOMETHING NEW YOU WANT TO DO, AND TRY IT OUT FOR AN EASY, DOABLE, 30 DAYS.

The point? To satisfy your craving to do and be more, no strings attached.

WHY 30 DAYS?

30 Day Challenges are proven to give you the right amount of excitement and motivation to tell your comfort zone to “get lost, it’s play time”.  They do this without the beat-down a long-term commitment offers, when it makes a fool out of you for giving up before you’ve even started. For this reason, New Years Resolutions can suck it!

LOVE YOUR CHALLENGE, OR FIND A NEW ONE!

Choose your particular 30 Day Challenge because it’s something YOU WANT to try, not because someone else made you feel you ‘should’ or ‘have to’.  Doing something because you WANT to, makes you more likely to lavish in the victory of your improvement.  There will be times in your Challenge when you’ll need to push through.  Your spine doesn’t arrive at the party in full force when you lay down a carpet of ‘hates’ and ‘shoulds’.  Bravery is inspired by WANTS.

WHAT WILL YOUR FRIENDS THINK?

As much as we like to think that we are individuals doing what we want, we subconsciously seek external approval, or what psychology coined “conformity”.  The remarkable thing about doing a 30 Day Challenge is that your friends won’t think you’re a lunatic making massive life changes.  You are simply trying something new, for a short period of time.  It’s only a matter of time before they start to copy you (they’re also approval seekers).

HOW DID I START MY 30 DAY CHALLENGES?

We are our habits.  I could see who I truly wanted to be, and had the powerful realisation that my habits would never get me there.  That scared the shit out of me.  Laughing at how useless I was simply wasn’t funny anymore.  So I wrote down all the things I wanted to do, and gave myself 30 day stints to do them in.

Let’s just say, 30 Day Challenges had their way with me, and I liked it.  New, scary, exhilarating, I’m finally trying out the things I’ve been wanting to do for years!  There is nothing more exciting than realising how much more you have to give the world, and how much better you’re becoming for you, and those around you.

HOW EASY IS STARTING? SO EASY.

  1. Write:  Start writing down all the things YOU WANT to do/try/learn/experience (add and delete from this list as you please)
  2. Time:  Set yourself 30 Days
  3. Prepare:  Make a schedule that you can follow for the next 30 days.
Give yourself wiggle room.  It’s better to ease in and slowly up the intensity over the 30 days, than blow out on week one.
  4. Share: Let me know what you’re trying (if you want to)
  5. Start
